As a busy Mum of two young boys, founder of Active Mummies Claire Brown understands how hard it can be to find the time and energy to exercise. As a fully qualified Personal Trainer who specialises in Post-Natal Fitness, Claire set up Active Mummies as the best way to help mums of all postnatal stages regain their self-confidence and improve their fitness levels.

Active Mummies offers a number of outdoor fitness classes (with or without buggies) which aim to help mums of all different fitness abilities reach their own personal fitness goals in a motivational, fun and friendly group environment; whilst giving them the opportunity to meet and socialise with like-minded new mums.

Buggy Fit Classes

Our Buggy Fit classes are the perfect way for mums to get out, socialise, and get fit whilst keeping an eye on your little one at the same time. Active Mummies cater for small sociable groups of mothers who want to get fit in a encouraging and friendly atmosphere. With our ‘no one size fits all’ approach, we are able to cater for mums at all ends of the fitness spectrum, helping you as an individual reach your fitness goal. Our groups can be located at Brampton Valley Way, Abington Park in Northampton, and Daventry Country Park.

Personal Training

Active Mummies offer 1-2-1 personal training for mothers who are looking for something on a more focused and individual basis. Based from your local park, your garden or even in your home, our specialist personal trainer will motivate you to achieve your personal fitness goals, and encourage you every step of the way to move towards a healthy lifestyle. Claire can come to you, taking the hassle out of travelling, and is able to provide all of the equipment and kit required for your personal workout. All with your baby in sight.

Active Mummies does not adopt a one size fits all approach!

We all have our different reasons and motivations for wanting to exercise. Active Mummies will offer you a close to personal workout within a group environment. The goal for each class is to get everyone working at 70% of their maximum ability, which of course is going to be different for everyone. I will do this by offering alternative exercises to make it either more accessible or more challenging for you. It doesn’t matter if you are completely new to exercise, extremely fit or somewhere in the middle. Active Mummies is for you and is a great way to help you achieve your personal fitness goals!

Active Mummies has helped me lose 16lb so far in just 8 weeks as well as regain my confidence. In May last year I gave birth to my first beautiful baby, a little girl called Alexa. I clearly remember the first time I stepped on the scales about 3weeks after giving birth; I knew I had gained weight but when the scales showed I was 3 stone heavier than I was pre pregnancy I was shocked and felt disappointed with myself.

I originally tried working out at home and tried doing home fitness DVDs but this would only last a few days at a time and then I would loose the motivation and give up, especially after a long sleepless night! I was getting more upset/ frustrated and started to loose my confidence, a friend told my about Active mummies and I haven’t looked back!
